What are corns?

  •  Small circles of thick skin
  •  Yellowish in color, develops on the sides and between the toes along with the soles
  •  Caused by excessive pressure and friction

 Hard Corn and Soft Corn

Why should you take care of Corns?

  • Extremely painful when you wear any foot wear, gets a whole lot worse when you walk.
  • Unintentionally change your posture to avoid pain, which often puts stress somewhere else, leading to other unrelated pain

Can lead to:

Bursitis - Inflammation of a fluid-filled sac between the skin and bone typically requires treatment with an antibiotic. In some cases, your doctor may need to drain the fluid in the bursa and inject a steroid.

Septic arthritis – When corn becomes infected, bacteria can spread through your bloodstream and cause joint infection. Causes intense pain, redness, and swelling in the joint and have major difficulty moving. Typically treated with antibiotics, and the fluid in the joint is usually drained.

Osteomyelitis – Infection of bone tissue and nearby tendons, usually occurs to diabetics and smokers, due to poor blood circulation in their feet. Antibiotics are usually used to kill the bacteria. In many cases, dead bone tissue will need to be surgically removed.
